What's the difference between a KRUTZ Series 100 and a KRUTZ Series 500 except for one is more expensive than the other? Read on below to find out. KRUTZ Instrument Series Descriptions


KRUTZ Student (100-250): Built to exceed the most stringent standards, these instruments raise the bar for student level products. Crafted in the tradition of our professional lines, they are loved by students, and more importantly, their teachers. Found in rental pools and orchestra classrooms around the country, every KRUTZ Student Level instrument is entirely set up in our Kansas City workshop.


KRUTZ Step-Up (300-450): Hand-selected from our private shops outside of Beijing, these represent the best instruments for the money on the market today. Entirely hand carved from the most beautiful wood and finished with the finest shaded oil varnish, each one is setup and tonally adjusted in our Kansas City workshop. KRUTZ Step-up instruments are ideal for all players at any stage, but at a price that is easier on the budget.


KRUTZ Advanced (500-650): Hand-selected from our private shops outside of Beijing, these represent the best instruments for the money on the market today. Entirely hand carved from the most beautiful wood and finished with the finest shaded oil varnish, each one is setup and tonally adjusted in our Kansas City workshop. KRUTZ Step-up instruments are ideal for all players at any stage, but at a price that is easier on the budget.


KRUTZ Artisan (700-750): Crafted in our private, affiliate shops outside of Beijing by incredibly talented luthiers, these instruments come to us in the white. They are then taken apart, re-graduated, fitted with an advanced bass bar, and treated with Anton’s proprietary sealer and varnish here in Kansas City. The 700 series are crafted from Asian wood, the 750 series from European stock. KRUTZ Artisan instruments have greater projection and tonal resonance and are suited for advancing students as well as amateur adult players.


KRUTZ Avant (800-850): Crafted in our Kansas City workshop by senior luthiers, all aspects of the making process are overseen by Anton Krutz. Every piece of European and American wood is aged over 10 years, and hand-selected from our stock in Kansas City, and each instrument receives Anton’s proprietary sealer and varnish. The KRUTZ Avant Series utilize fully professional materials and precise specifications, making them ideal for advanced students and professionals.


Anton Krutz: These instruments are hand-crafted by Master Luthier, Anton Krutz, and bring together the best in materials, design, and construction. Beginning with his selection of acoustically vibrant curly maple and spruce from carefully aged stock, his craftmanship includes precise arching and graduations. A unique mineral ground and proprietary varnish gives each instrument its timbre and Bel Canto voice on par with that of the fine Italian masters. Anton Krutz signature instruments are meticulously crafted to create the powerful, expressive sound sought by professionals around the world.
